Steven
Paulsen,
General Manager
In addition to holding the position of general manager, Steven
is also one of the principal owners of CSR, Inc. He oversees all aspects
of Conservation Seeding & Restoration, Inc. operations. He holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Rangeland Ecology and Watershed
Management.
Steven has worked in restoration, conservation and land stewardship
since acquiring his degree. Before starting CSR, Inc. he worked for Conservation
Land Stewardship and Applied Ecological Services, Inc., two restoration
companies that were instrumental in forming a passion for the work
he does today with CSR, Inc. |

Starla
Paulsen, President,
Financial and Administrative Director
Starla is one of three principal owners of Conservation Seeding
& Restoration, Inc. She presently works as a research scientist
when she is not attending to the financial and administrative
needs of CSR, Inc. Starla holds a Master of Science degree in Food Science and
Human Nutrition with a Food Microbiology emphasis. She also holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Sciences with a minor in Human
Nutrition. |

Kevin
Osborne,
Field Operations Manager, Restoration Specialist
Kevin is one of three principal owners of CSR, Inc. He is our man on the
ground and is responsible for the supervision of all work crews
and their crew foremen.
Kevin has worked for over fifteen years in the landscape and restoration
field and has been involved in nursery management, landscaping,
equipment operation and tree field management. He has taken horticulture
training at the College of Southern Idaho and is licensed and certified
in the operation of hydro-seeding equipment. |

Lance
Bennett,
Construction Manager
Lance is responsible for the oversight and management of all stewardship
and monitoring activities within the state of Idaho including data
collection, noxious weed control, wildlife habitat restoration,and
general maintenance. He is licensed as a Professional Applicator
in the Agricultural Herbicide and Lawn Safety categories.
Lance attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst studying
Human Impact on the Environment. He also has eight years experience
in the landscaping field and has worked within the Bureau of
Land Management as a rangeland aide. |

Dylan
Levy-Boyd,
Biologist
Dylan provides technical support to CSR's restoration and stewardship
efforts and contributes research expertise toward CSR's innovative
restoration practices.
Dylan graduated with a degree in Biology from Reed College.
Dylan then accepted a one year Mellon Post Baccalaureate Fellowship
to continue his thesis research investigating the mechanism of
flower color evolution in Delphinium spp. endemic to
western Oregon and southwestern Washington. He also has three
seasons of trail maintenance working with the NPS in Yosemite
and the Southwest Conservation Corps in Colorado's San Juan Mountains.
Most recently, Dylan interned at the Teton Science School honing
his skills as a naturalist and teacher. |

Rich
Drick,
Assistant Stewardship Manager
Rich provides support and implementation for all of the stewardship,
monitoring and habitat restoration projects in Idaho. He is licensed
as a Professional Applicator in the Agricultural Herbicide and
Lawn Safety categories.
Rich graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in
Recreation Outdoor Leadership. After working for Outward Bound
as mountaineering, rock climbing and kayak guide he became lead
facilitator for the College of Southern Idaho’s ropes course.
While working for the Idaho DEQ he wrote his masters thesis on
motivations for participation in the federal 319 program. |

Kent
Fothergill,
Biologist
Kent Fothergill is responsible for the finer points of planning,
restoration and stewardship operations.
After obtaining his biology degree from University of Oregon,
Kent worked in private aquaculture, and specialized in fish
health and environmental aspects of aquaculture prior to
joining CSR, Inc. During this time, Kent also actively worked
as a biologist with Red Willow Research. There he was involved
in: rangeland ecology, riparian assessments, pygmy rabbit,
bat, bird, and insect related projects for private industry,
government and NGOs.
Kent recently completed a master's degree program emphasizing conservation
biology of Idaho's butterfly fauna at Prescott College in Arizona. Kent has also
served as president of native plant society chapters in Idaho and Missouri.

Julie
Riddle,
Nativescape Designer
Julie’s responsibilities include nativescape designs in
AutoCAD, cost studies for construction activities, and client
meetings. In keeping with CSR’s vision, she utilizes native
plants to provide customers with aesthetically pleasing & functional
landscapes.
Julie has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University
of Oregon & a year and a half of irrigation design & estimation
experience from John Deere Landscapes. During three years of independent
traditional landscape & irrigation design, she completed projects
from Alaska to Southern Oregon. She has worked for multiple plant
nurseries and landscape contractors including TruGreen Lawncare
and TreeCare & Landscapes Unlimited, as well as her family’s
own nursery. Julie is a Certified
Irrigation Designer (CID). |

Aaron
Harrington,
Maintenance Shop Manager
Aaron is our shop/maintenance manager and is charged with keeping
our ever growing fleet of vehicles and equipment running trouble
free. Other duties include the fabrication of job specific vehicles
and equipment, and researching new technologies to be implemented
into CSR, Inc. to aid in the overall efficiency of the company.
Aaron has 6 years experience in the field of vegetation management
and currently holds Ag Herbicide licenses in 5 states. He also
has 12 years experience in the field of general shop labor and
equipment maintenance. |

Joelene
Diehl,
Soil Scientist
Joelene provides support for the soil aspect of restoration
and stewardship efforts at CSR, Inc.
Joelene has a Master of Science in environmental
science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
and a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Washington University
in Biology/Zoology. Her graduate research focused on nitrogen
cycling and transformations in agricultural soil. Upon completing
her undergraduate education she was a volunteer in the U.S. Peace
Corps. Some of her other experiences include working as a biological
technician for the U.S. Geological Survey and the Kalispel Tribe
of Indians.

Matt
Greer,
Seed Production Manager
Matt contributes to the plant and seed production programs.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Botany
and a minor in Forestry from Colorado State University. He has
worked as a mycological consultant in Oregon, as a nursery manager
in Montana, and as a seasonal botanist for the Bureau of Land Management
in Idaho. |

John Lancaster,
Production/Construction Sales Lead
John is a sales professional with 22 years of experience in the Ag field.
For the last 15 years, John worked at Gem Equipment Inc. In his spare time,
he enjoys tournament bass fishing, camping, and spending time with his wife Cindy
and their eight grandchildren.

Salvador Vargas,
Construction Crew Foreman
Que Pasa. Salvador (Sal) has a wonderful wife & three great kids,
and has lived in the Magic Valley for the last 20 years. He enjoys working outdoors
and is an excellent team player. He works on the CSR, Inc. construction crew as a foreman
and is an asset to the team.

Zenyth Propst,
Biological Technician, Wyoming
Zenyth grew up in Austin, TX and graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
She has a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis on ecology and environmental science.
Zenyth enjoys camping, hiking, and golfing and is looking forward to exploring Idaho and Wyoming.

James Gose-Eells,
Native Plant Grower
James Gose-Eells is a nine year resident of the Magic Valley,
supported by his wonderful family; wife Jennifer and sons Alex and Andrew.
James graduated from I.S.U. with a B.S. in Botany in 1995.
Since then he has spent much of his time in the horticultural field,
rising quickly to management positions. In addition to being keen on the
special commitment required for growing plants, James has managed employees
at Nurseries and Greenhouses in Spokane, Washington and in Twin Falls, Idaho.
With his experience and education, the CSR, Inc. Nursery is a perfect fit for James.

Steve Drucker,
IT Director
For 15 years, Steve has been involved in the tech industry. Before moving to Idaho in 2005 with his wife of 21 years, he was an IT Director
in Las Vegas, Nevada, administering, maintaining, and installing, a multi-server
Windows and Novell network, with over 100 workstations. At the same time, Steve
produced proprietary and commercial software in a variety of programming languages including VB, C++, SQL, and Python.
Thanks to the internet, Steve actively day-trades futures.
He also enjoys metal, progressive, and classic rock,
and lays down bass riffs from time to time.
Archery and fresh-water fishing are on the to-do-now list.

Regan Pence,
Landscape Designer
Regan was born and raised in the Magic Valley and is familiar with it's various communities and ecologies.
He graduated from Valley High and joined the Sigma Nu Fraternity while attending the University of Idaho, majoring in landscape architecture.
Regan worked summers doing landscape installation in the Magic Valley while doing course work in landscape design.
Upon graduation he worked for a Southern California firm, advancing to project management and became experienced in
landscape of large and small scale single family, mixed-use, condominium, recreational and commercial projects.
Design experience includes construction design, graphics, estimating, irrigation design and city processing.
Regan enjoys traveling, music, snow boarding, friends, and the outdoors.

Michael Clancy,
G.I.S. Specialist
Michael first attended Colorado Mountain College where he obtained both an Associate in Arts
and an Associate in Science degree and received CISCO training. He continued his studies
at the University of Idaho, Moscow, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Environmental Science, Physical Science emphasis, geology and geography focus, and G.I.S certification.
During his academic career, he conducted extensive remote sensing research for the Central Asian Glacio-Climatic
Research Group which is funded by both NASA and N.S.F.
Michael has gained experience from many
diverse fields including the Forest Service Minerals Department, private G.I.S contracting,
steel construction, and open source software development.

Construction Crew
Ernesto enjoys the great outdoors, and spending time with his three children.
He has been in the Magic Valley for 20 years and has extensive knowledge in
landscaping irrigation and construction.

Barbara Murcray,
Administrative Assistant, Wyoming
A Colorado native and long time Wyoming resident,
Barbara and her husband have raised three sons in Rock Springs.
Prior to joining CSR, Inc. she was a field secretary for Questar Corp.
She has also worked for Trona Valley CFCU as a bank teller and
City Market/Jubilee Foods as a cashier and Customer Relations Manager.

Shawna Raden,
Seed Technician
Shawna looks good in a bandana. And hails from Northwestern Montana.
She works as our seed technician. And got her degree in Land Rehabilitation.
Out in the woods she collects seeds for all our restoration needs.
On the weekends you can always find her playing in the hills or out on the river.

Gregg Sturtevant,
Landscape Architect
Gregg Sturtevant has over 30 years of experience in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design.
He operated his own Landscape Architectural firm from 1984 to 2001 giving him experience in everything
from large scale estate planning and design to river restoration, from commercial planning to parks and recreation planning.
With a strong design process and a "hands-on" approach he has been able to successfully complete many different projects.
Mr. Sturtevant graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture
and is a recipient of the Distinguished Landscape Architecture Alumnus Award in 2005.
He is past President of the Counsel of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards,
the international licensure oversight organization.

Michael Pallante,
Regional Manager, Wyoming
Michael has a strong Environmental background in farming, agriculture, organics,
plant propagation, topographical manipulation, soil & erosion control,
landscape construction design and installation, and equipment operation.
Michael originates from Pennsylvania where his formal education is in business
management, public relations, interpersonal communications, and environmental
research. He holds a BA from Susquehanna University.

Austin Brose,
Restoration Field Tech, Wyoming
Austin graduated in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point,
with a B.S. in Wildlife Management and Ecology. Before coming to CSR, Inc. Austin
held natural resource positions in Alaska, Colorado, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. When
not working, Austin can usually be found fishing, hunting, hiking and camping.

Steve has been a resident of Wyoming for the last 30 years.
He has a background in Mining, Environmental Services and Industrial Hygiene.
Steve enjoys the outdoors – golfing and fishing…. Also, he is an organic garlic producer.

Richard is a Wyoming native. He has a background in welding,
operating a fork lift and skid steer. Richard also has experience
in grounds maintenance. Richard attended the University of Anchorage Alaska
and Western Wyoming College. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

A lifelong resident of Wyoming, J.R. enjoyed farming and ranching in the Big Horn Basin.
J.R. also has worked in the Gas and Oil industry and in the Transportation field.
J.R. is an avid gardener and enjoys living in Green River Wyoming.

Don is originally a California native.
For the last 10 years he has been living in Boise Idaho, working in the landscaping industry.
Recently Don relocated to Rock Springs Wyoming and joined the CSR team.
Don has a wide and varied background in Auto Mechanics, Truck Driving, and Landscaping
specializing in irrigation and sprinkler installation.

Gary Alan Newman,
Restoration Field Tech, Wyoming
Gary was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before moving to Rock Springs Wyoming,
Alan and his wife Natalie lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Alan served 8 years in the
Army Reserves and specialized in communications. He recently went back to school
and got his Associates degree in electronics at the Eastern Idaho Technical College.
When he is not working he enjoys the outdoors, Camping, Fishing and Four Wheeling.

Jason Dunker,
Restoration Field Tech, Wyoming
Jason was born and raised in southwestern Wyoming. After enlisting in the U.S.A.F. and
performing supply duties in the country of Turkey and Germany, moved to Phoenix, AZ and restored classic American cars.
Jason then relocated to sunny south Florida and spent time controlling exotic/invasive vegetation
in lakes, waterways and natural preserves. Having a CDL license for 15 years, Jason is capable of driving many types
of trucks and experienced in heavy equipment. His hobbies are the restoration of classic cars and trucks, mud trucks and race cars.
An avid hunter who looks forward to the elk season in Wyoming every year, and has been seen with fishing poles and bait almost everywhere he goes.

Josh Graham,
Restoration Field Tech, Wyoming
Josh is from the high desert of Wyoming.
He has an Associates degree in arts and science from Western Wyoming Community College
with a minor in mathematics and chemistry. Josh has experience in welding and the
filtration of oil/gas fracture well water. His hobbies include reading Google patents,
surfing the net for useless information, rock climbing, and hunting with bow and arrow.
He is a math nerd and can do square roots to the 0.1 in his head.
